Reviews of River's Nook

"This accommodation is not worth 5 stars. The location, amaxing views from back and wonderful countryside are worthy but then things are not so good. This chalet is very small and a larger person or someone not very mobile may have a problem. The chalet itself measures approx 15ft x 15ft. The photo on Sykes shows large tv on wall in kitchen and 2 seater settee. When we arrived there was a 22inch tv on top of the microwave and 2 old and previously repaired chairs. The kitchen is listed as open plan. A space of 5ftx4ft 6"is designated for sitting area which comprised of 2 very uncomfortable swivel chairs. There was no room to swivel or to recline. The 22" tv was 14ft away. The chairs could not be moved forward as there is a door to bedroom one side and one opening into kitchen the other. One of the chairs couldn't see tv when door was open. Bedroom had comfortable bed but there was only 12" between wall and bed on 3 sides so if you are unable to do a side shuffle you would have to climb over the bed. No room to dress or undress no room for 2 people's clothes. Had to keep some clothes and toiletries in bags. No room for bags so they were on bed during day and on kitchen table and chairs at night. Very small en suite. The accommodation looks clean when you first enter but we found a number of areas not so good. We informed Sykes and proved our complaints with photos. Hopefully things will be better for the next tenants but lack of space and comfort may not be easily remedied."

"Just returned from a week at River's Nook - cannot recommend it highly enough. An escape from the day to day, perfect peaceful location and fabulous facilities! The cabin itself was spotless, well equipped and maintained. Ideal as well for us as we had our dog with us, and he settled in straight away too, and benefitted from a little garden at the side of the cabin which was totally enclosed. Free wifi, freeview television and an assortment of dvds, book, games - plus tea and coffee (even had some fresh milk left in the fridge for us, for our welcome). Lovely sitting out area with a fabulous view, which you still got the benefit when we came in at night when it got chilly due to the fabulous windows of the cabin. We really do hope to return and can't recommend highly enough."
