"It's hard to pick holiday let these days. The fad for loading sites with close up pics of towels shaped into swans or bowels of potpourri slightly out of focus doesn't really show you much about a place one bit. So when I looked at the pics for Gloucester House and showed them to the others coming for the holiday, they seemed to think this was ok. Not knowing how big the outside space was, for the benefit of the dogs was left to guess work but everything else seemed to match the photos. I didn't know the area so hugely surprised at the landscapes, walking and pleasant friendly folk around here. The New Inn across the road is very friendly (has to be, the owner owns this cottage), and the Old New Inn up the road in Llanfyllin also does great food too. Both us blokes head butted the beam above the bathroom door a few times, and the boiler stopped working but was quickly fixed by the owner. The younger folks with us struggled with lack of mobile signals and the wifi signal isn't that strong and the bandwidth is slow too, but I guess that's how it is. And on a domestic point of view, I'd have preferred a washing machine, working fan oven and more kitchen utensils. We'd definitely come back to do more Walking and exploring in this area again. "
