The historic village of Churchstoke was originally mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, while today it is a quiet village surrounded by scenic countryside, on the English/Welsh border. It boasts a supermarket, two pubs and an historic church. A few miles away, Montgomery is a small town steeped in history, with many timber-framed houses, cobbled streets and the ruins of a 13th century hill-top castle which provides panoramic views over Wales.
