"The cottage owners went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They tactfully enquired whether we celebrated xmas. When I said we did they put lights on the house and bought us a beautiful real tree. They also asked if they should decorate it or leave it for the children. Hasten to add our children had a lovely time making paper chains and decorating the tree. They even got them a little gift each. Communication was fantastic, all questions answered honestly and promptly, Jan called us en route too. When we arrived they met and greeted us like old friends, they were not intrusive at all, but they were friendly and obliging. We had a fantastic stay and would love to return. Jill "

"We have had a great long weekend, the walks, views and friendly advice from David and Jan made our break that much more special. The house is very spacious, with lovely log burners and well finished with a homely feel. We would certainly recommend and look forward to coming back soon :) PS if you get chance try the Three Tuns in the nearby village of bishops castle . Philly "

"Hillside catered for all the family. . There were stair gates for safety which was invaluable. the owner was very welcoming and gave us good information about the surrounding areas. The kitchen area was a nice sociable area where we sat and ate our meals. We were fortunate to have lovely sunny weather so we were able to sit out at night. The patio area was lovely and the beds were clean and really comfortable. We couldn't fault anything. "

"Hillside made the perfect venue for my walking group to walk the Offas Dyke long distance path, being it was so close by. A supermarket across the road and more walks from the back door added to it's appeal. The owners were discreetly on site to make sure our needs were catered for. And the bucket of outdoor games gave us a chance to test our badminton skills on the large lawn. Thoroughly recommend Hillside for a long or short stay. "
