"Ash Barn had everything we needed & more to enjoy our family Christmas. The layout of the barn is perfect for a family & our dog. The kitchen had every facility & all the equipment needed to prepare & cook our family Christmas lunch. The owners decorated the barn delightfully - it looked so Christmasy & homely. Donna & John provided us with local meat & eggs, which were of the most excellent quality. Views from the barn are stunning. We will certainly be staying here again."

"We stayed for a few nights in November with family, including two small children. The barn is absolutely lovely and you could really notice the recent refurbishment and the attention that the owners have put into the property. The welcome instructions and directions were incredibly helpful given that the barn in quite remote. Plenty of parking space available next to the property and the outside is very well maintained. The barn is located next to a few others, but it is not congested and plenty of outside space for seating and bbq (although not in November'!!). Upon arrival the barn was lovely and warm and it was brilliant to find that the owners had baked us some brownies and left fresh bread and farm eggs for our stay. The standard of accommodation was very high and there was plenty of room. The kitchen is a very good size and you would not go wanting for anything. The owners have catered for absolutely everything within the kitchen/dining and even provide a supply of tea and coffee. Very good sized fridge freezer for bringing ur own food and separate utility for washer etc. The lounge is large and very cosy with log burner within. DVD player provided and a movie library of DVD's, with some cracking choices. There is also lots of games available too in the cupboard. The upstairs consists of four bedrooms, all of which are a very good size. One has ensure and their is a separate family bathroom. The Beds were really comfy to. He owners visited briefly after we arrived just to check we had everything we needed which was also a very nice touch. The views from the barn of the surrounding countryside are stunning and there is obviously plenty of lovely walks surrounding. There is nothing within walking distance of the barn, in terms of a shop, pub or restaurant etc. Everything would be a drive. However, for our stay we took plenty of food and cooked which was lovely to relax in the barn. Having taken two young kids, the owners provided stair gates up and down stairs as well as one for around the log burner. Their is also a high chair should u wish and travel cots provided. Distance wise both Oswestry and Shrewsbury are roughly 45 minutes away for day trips and plenty of little villages much closer. I can't recommend this barn enough for a short break. It is a great standard of accommodation in a very picturesque, relaxing setting."

"We have recently returned from this beautiful spacious barn set in stunning countryside, it is ideally situated to visit so many places of interest. The barn is so homely, beautifully decorated and furnished, bedding and linens are of excellent quality. The selection of games, books and dvd's is tremendous. This is the best equipped cottage that we have stayed in. The owners are very kind and considerate, the welcome goodies were exceptional including delicious homemade brownies, fresh farm eggs and even doggy treats! We were even told to help ourselves to fruit from the orchard. We cant recommend the barn and it's owners highly enough, it definitely deserves a visit."

"We had a wonderful stay at Ash Barn for my husband's 30th birthday weekend. It really was a home from home with everything you could possibly need. There were 8 adults, 1 infant and 2 dogs and still plenty of room for us all. It was a bonus we all got either a double or king bed!! The area is beautiful - we enjoyed a trip out to Montgomery to look at the castle and had a great walk over a section of Offa's Dyke. Donna was extremely accommodating - we especially liked the homemade bread upon arrival. We couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thanks for a memorable weekend and we hope to return soon."

"So so happy about this place! Stayed with 6 friends and 2 kids over a weekend and had the best time. We were let down by a nearby cottage who we turned up to and they were double booked! So we called Sykes Cottages who arranged Ash Barn with Donna and John very quickly and to be honest it worked out really well. Got the warmest welcome and we were the first ever guests and the place has just opened after a refurbishment. Big open plan kitchen and diner with a separate living room. 4 good sized bedrooms with a family bathroom and en suite. Just perfect for 8 people. Log burning fire which powers out the heat and an excellent new electric range cooker and ovens. Donna and John were amazing, they made brownies for us, left us flour and butter as I mentioned I had forgotten them and took us to their farm to see the new piglets and cows which the little kids loved. Also loads of apple trees which Donna let me pick and take home. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend to others. Do visit the castle in Montgomery as well as lovely restaurants and pubs in the area. "
