Reviews of Tirionfa

"The cottage sleeps 5, has 3 bedrooms and is all on one floor. The cottage is spotlessly clean, has comfortable beds, pillows and sofas, good TV and WiFi. There is a separate dining room. The kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and freezer. The best furnishings we have had in a holiday property. The extra touches were appreciated-Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, milk and fresh flowers. The cottage is up a steep lane with a sharp left turn to the property and then steep incline to the parking area. There is a small tuning space at the bottom but can only be used by one vehicle. If there is more than one car it would have to reverse down the steep incline! The views of Portmerion across the Estuary are ever changing and spectacular. Keep the curtains open at night to see spectacular sunsets-the best we have ever seen. A photographers dream . There are no shops in the village and the pub (10 mins walk away) does not currently have a chef so no food is served. There is a large Tesco in Porthmadog."

"Tirionfa is a very well presented and maintained cottage on the edge of Talsarnau. Although a reasonably peaceful location, it does front on to the main road, and traffic noise is evident at times. You are also in a working farming area, and there can be the expected farming noises (particularly sheep & sheepdogs) and 'aromas' at times. Talsarnau itself has few facilities, but what it does have (one Pub/restaurant and one motel/restaurant) are very good (although the pub, The Ship Aground, was in the process of changing chef and wasn't doing food while we were there)."

"Just had a week stay here from 27th August. We received a lovely warm welcome with welsh cakes and a boiling kettle for a much deserved cuppa after a 6 hour journey. Owner very friendly. Cottage very clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Children and dog enjoyed running around the garden and us adults enjoyed sitting on the patio of an evening looking at the beautiful view of Port Meirion. All in all a fantastic week stay made better by this excellent value for money cottage. Thanks go to the owner and if we ever return to this area we would definitely not hesitate in booking to stay here again."

"This is a fantastic cottage in an excellent location with all the facilities you would expect. Double glazed windows and efficient heating made for a warm, cosy stay. Fantastic area for our dog with a short walk down to the estuary. Ideally situated for visiting further afield with Snowdonia, Anglesey and Barmouth all within easy reach by road or even rail. We will definitely stay again and would thoroughly recommend the cottage to any families, especially if you bring your dog along. "

"A beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and everything you could possibly need was provided. The weather helped too but sitting out at the front overlooking the bay and Port Meirion in the distance was so relaxing. We will definitely go back again and recommend to other family and friends."

"Have stayed in a large number of cottages over the years but this has to be one of the best. The cottage was beautifully decorated, there was ample crockery and nice quality equipment. Had my parents with me who commented that they felt like guests rather than visitors. The owner was very helpful, warm and friendly. We would visit again and definitely recommend."
