Reviews of Owl Cottage

"A warm welcome with friendly owners, there was an honest description of the cottage, which exceeded our expectations. The owner obviously took great pride in their business."

"Stayed in this cottage for a week at the start of June as a party of 4 adults and a 7-month old baby. Cottage is well tucked away down a long winding lane, so perfect for those seeking some peace and quiet. The cottage is spacious and well laid-out, with plenty of space for stuff! The kitchen has loads of cutlery/crockery/pots/pans etc., a microwave and cooker with hob, and a fridge, but no washing machine. We were initially worried about this, but as it turns out there was not a problem, and there is a launderette in the town centre if needs be. Views are stunning from the living room and kitchen. Barbecue etc are also all provided with plenty of outdoor seating if the weather permits. There is parking for one car next to the cottage and space off the road nearby for further parking. Owners are friendly and helpful and live just across the road. Books/maps etc all in the cottage for nearby walks, and there are some lovely walks around the cottage if you don't want to travel far, or it is only 20minutes to the coast. All in all a lovely cottage and would highly recommend."

"The cottage is set in a peaceful and relaxing area with beautiful scenery. It is very clean and comfortable and a lovely area for walking (especially with a dog). The town of Dolgellau is close by and is a very pretty market town with good eating places, especially the Royal Ship which is also dog friendly. Our second visit to Owl Cottage and we thoroughly recommend it."

"The location of this pet-friendly cottage means you can walk from the door and leave the car behind. Stunning views from the warm sitting room. Unlike many holiday cottages the kitchen is well-equipped.The only downside is that there's no outside lobby for wet and muddy walking gear.Despite tranquil rural location it's only a few miles from Dolgellau for food shopping and the great George III pub at Penmanpool is a pleasant 20 minute walk away."

"The cottage was well equipped, however may have been beneficial to have a washing machine if we were to stay longer than a week. It was very peaceful and had lovely views over the area. If you like cycling the Coed-y-Brenin trail centre was a 45 minute ride away. Not walkable into town for small children, however the town has a great big play area behind the large bridge. The skylight in the main bedroom was very noisy when it rained hard. Overall a great stay in a lovely area."

"This semi-detached cottage offers a good standard of accommodation and is set in glorious scenic countryside. I was irritated to find that I had to spend precious time shopping for such basics as toilet rolls and cleaning materials and consider that such things should be included in the price, even if a small adjustment is made to cover the cost."
