Reviews of Coach-house Cottage

"We booked the Haybarn in Dailly in order for our family to visit the area and lay my grandfather to rest so the trip was particularly sensitive and personal. First of all, we had to be relocated into alternative accommodation two days before we were due to arrive because of a burst pipe in our booked property. I was told on the phone that our party of 7 would be able to stay together in the alternative property but the options we were offered (including the original property that we had booked!) only had two bedrooms each. So we reluctantly took the Coach House and the Tack Room. Issues in the Coach House were: 1) No working lamp in one en-suite shower meaning washing was done in the dark 2) Cooker switch and microwave socket are ILLEGALLY located, confirmed by the qualified electrician in our party 3) No extractor fan or ventilation in kitchen meaning all cooking triggered the fire alarms 4) Not enough towels provided for the number of guests and when more were requested, only hand towels were supplied, one of which was dirty 5) It was not clear how to programme or start/stop the heating in the property as no control panels were visible, only thermostats 6) On first removing the grill pan from the oven in order to use it, we found it full of old fat 7) Mouldy used teabags found in teapot when attempting to use it 8) There is a leak from the under-sink pedestal in the downstairs WC We also noticed several patched up holes in the ceiling where someone had incorrectly sited lights only to then have to relocate them. It felt that good money was spent on fixtures and fittings but the whole place had been poorly finished by people who were not qualified. I would not recommend properties on the Cloncaird Castle estate primarily for safety reasons."
