Reviews of The Granary

"Stayed here for three nights (7of us) The house was stunning. A little difficult to find at first as we arrived after dark. But there was nothing that we were short of. It was clean, very functional and we enjoyed our stay there. All the rooms were lovely and comfy. Was very cold and icy in the mornings and evening but lovely and warm inside. Would definitely recommend "

"We bought a weeks accommodation at The Granary just outside Jedburgh at a charity event and was delighted with the house. Very well equipped kitchen, two living areas with lots of board games to play with the family. Beds were very comfy and kids loved the jacuzzi bath. Added bonus of a pool table and table tennis table in an outhouse. A huge garden which was very well maintained. We had a glorious week weather wise and barbecued quite a bit (bbq provided). We took our dog with us and garden was fully enclosed. Jedburgh swimming pool was a huge hit with the kids and staff very friendly. Visited Coldingham beach which was a gorgeous beach then went to Eyemouth the same day to go on a Rib boat excursion. This was fantastic and worth while doing. Harestanes park was great for the kids with a lot of things to do in it. Cafe there was ok. Also spent the day at Dalkeith park which was stunning. Great park for the kids and a stroll in the stream before we left as the weather was fantastic. Melrose and Kelso are both lovely towns. All in all a great holiday in the borders and would recommend The Granary."

"Need a place to hold eight people in southern Scotland? The Granary is it. We were a party of seven who used The Granary as our HQ to tour the Border Marches over seven days. The house has every amenity: fully kitchen with dishes and appliances and utensils, two living areas each with a TV, board games, a Wii, books to read, several outdoor sitting areas, a (mini) pool table and other features. Very clean and well-maintained and situated about a mile from Jedburgh proper."

"I spent a long weekend with my husband, two sons, daughter in law, fiancee and granddaughter aged 7 and our granddog Rocco in March. This was a Christmas present from the family to my husband and me. The weekend was most enjoyable. The house is absolutely fantastic, everything is provided. There were three chests full of games and toys in my granddaughter's bedroom; loads of CDs, games for the Wi; almost a library of books! The property was spotless. We had a welcome pack with tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, chocolates and even a bottle of wine. In the warmer months there are loads of decked areas where one can sit and enjoy the sun . Chinese food was delivered from Kelso; Sainsbury's is also in Kelso. We visited Mary Queen of Scots House, Abbotsford House and on the way home we popped into Rosslyn Chapel. My granddaughter certainly had a history lesson! The restaurant - Carters Rest - produced an exceptionally good meal. Very big helpings. Pleasant and helpful staff. Would recommend it."

Everything you need is provided, linen, towels, crockery, cutlery and a lovely welcome pack. The property is super cosy even though it is a large property. Lots of space inside and out. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all very good sizes. Great walks in the area and good attractions in the in the town, which you can walk to if you dont mind the uphill walk on the way back! The owner is very helpful. Great Chinese takeaway in Jedburgh as well."

The views from the house are superb, as it is high up a hill, but despite the bracing surroundings it was very warm and cosy, even on nights when there was a heavy frost. The house is very well equipped with a big kitchen and is a perfect place to relax, yet the cost was reasonable.
