Reviews of Braeside Cottage

"Lovely, spotlessly clean fully furnished cottage with all amenities including wi-fi. Outside the back door a path leads down to a beautiful, secluded garden with mature fruit trees where you can relax with a bottle of wine after a day's sightseeing. And there's a lot to see. Amongst others, we took a fabulous winding road through the hills to visit Traquair House, a 1000 year old dwelling steeped in Scottish history. Also took the A68 north to East Saltoun and the Glenkinchie whiskey distillery. Take the tour and find out how the'water of life' is made, and finish off with a free tasting! Denholm is a picturesque village built around a central green, offering all essential amenities to the visitor as well as providing a great jumping-off point for exploring this beautiful, unspoilt landscape."

"Stayed here for a week and could have stayed forever! The cottage has everything you could possibly need to enjoy a relaxing stress free time in the beautiful Scottish Borders. Located in the heart of the village a stones throw from the pubs and restaurant, the cottage provided us with a superb base to explore the area. Only 5 minutes from the convenience of supermarkets in Hawick yet far away enough to preserve that intimate friendly essence of village life. The cottage had a very comfortable living room with wood burning stove that was epically warm! Hard wood logs were provided (at reasonable cost) The kitchen was modern and filled with all manner of equipment. The small outside area was secure to let the dog have a moment of fresh air as required but the garden which was tucked down the bank was large and gave our lab a great space to chase his ball! It was also very secure! The bedrooms were comfy and the bathroom spotless. All in all a great stay we will be back!"
