Reviews of Woodstock Lodge

"We booked a week here over Easter and awesome does not describe the lodge or the hosts. as it was Easter they had placed Easter eggs all around the lodge for the kids to find. this just epitomizes how the lodge was. Every extra was there. bath towels, slippers, etc. the lodge is spotless and the hot tub was too. instructions were clear and easy to follow to keep the tub clean. Sorry, this took too long, life catches up with you but looking through old photos made me think. would I go back? Oh yes. Plus if you go you have to visit the station, its amazing."

"We stayed for a week in October at Woodstock Lodge and found it to be the perfect base for a holiday The lodge was spotlessly clean, warm, and exceptionally comfortable with lots of added extras that really made the holiday feel very special. We have booked to come again next year."

"From the minute we arrived at this fabulous lodge, it was idyllic. John was so welcoming and showed us everything we needed to know. The lodge was immaculate, and had everything we needed and more, from all the games, dvds, toys, cosmetics, the welcome pack of necessary milk, bread and butter etc, not forgetting the beautiful cakes and scones, to the super comfy beds and sitting area. We wanted for nothing. The view is spectacular and the hot tub just put the icing on the cake. Absolutely 5star accommodation. Oh and thank you for the wine"

"We have just returned from a new year break at this lodge. Halfway through our week long stay four of us contracted folliculitis from high levels of bacteria in the hot tub. We were so sick that we had to cut short our holiday by a day and return home to seek medical advice. We all have painful itchy rashes, fever, sore throats and headaches and have been on antibiotics for the last week ! Obviously we immediately reported this to the owner's John and Paul who then escalated our complaint up to Sykes cottages the holiday company. To date neither are willing to take responsibility for our sickness despite sending them confirmation from our GP and photographs detailing our suffering. Our 9 year old has been covered in painful weepy spots for over 10 days now and was so sick he was unable to enjoy his birthday whilst we were there. Our children were unable to return to school and my husband was unable to return to work due to this. We have asked repeatedly for a refund of our holiday but this has been refused and no one is taking responsibility. The owner's and Sykes have a duty of care to their customers along with public liability to ensure the holidays they sell meet health and safety standards which this has not. We have given both the owner's and Sykes the opportunity to refund our ruined holiday but both have refused so we will be taking legal action against them. Do NOT book this lodge or with Sykes cottages as they do not care about their customer well being or safety."

"Well I think my title says it all. I cannot believe something this beautiful actually exists. John and Paul you have created the most stunning lodge and if the lodge itself wasn't just fantastic the extra touches are totally unexpected. From the slippers to the hair wraps for the hot tub and the jelly beans and home made cakes an scones. You are both perfect hosts and it really shows that you want to make people happy and comfortable. The view is stunning perfect sitting on the decking watching the sunset. The entertainment area is a short walk up the steps in-between the other lodges. And not a long walk to the main street either. If you are looking for that relaxing time away then this is definitely for you. I can promise you will not be disappointed. Well done John and Paul you should both be very proud at what you have achieved in this beautiful lodge. Thank you for having us."

"We have stayed at Woodstock Lodge twice this year and any notion of old style holiday park cliches soon disappears upon arrival. This large and spacious holiday lodge is beautifully appointed throughout with every home comfort you could need for a relaxing stay. In a slightly elevated position, on the edge of woodland, there are stunning views across The Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Bute and a variety of rural and coastal walks on the doorstep. Add in the large verandah and private hot tub, and all you need is some favourite champagne or prosecco to relax in style."

"Woodstock Lodge is furnished to the highest standards, and there is everything you could possibly need for a luxury stay - hot tub, dishwasher, wifi, Sky tv, washer/dryer, amazing views, outstanding deck, comfortable beds. Went with 5 friends, and we were all blown away by the accommodation. A five minute walk (or less) takes you to the ferry terminal for a lovely boat trip to the Isle of Bute. Wemyss Bay itself is quiet, but right at the waters' edge so you don't have to go far for amazing walks and views."
