Findhorn was at one time a very busy fishing port and preserves it connections with the sea today; much of the village life still revolves around the bay, due to sailing and watersports, as the village is home to the Royal Findhorn Sailing Club. Its scenic location, together with its gentle climate, due to the influence of the Gulf Stream, makes it a desirable destination. Findhorn boast two pubs, two cafes, an organic bakery and a village store.

Reviews of Mint Cottage

"We had high hopes as we rent cottages a lot...garden amounts to a tiny space at the front so don't bring a ball or rackets. Cottage was tired and could have been cleaner. Freezer was full of someone else's food...we had driven a distance so no room for ours. Boiler cupboard was a disgrace and a fire hazard with cardboard boxes stacked on top. Have mentioned to owner that her standards are low and this was not received with good grace. All in all it seemed like someone had just moved out and it wasn't prepared for guests at all. Kay Fox"

"Our time in Mint Cottage was magical. A real slice of comfort, peace and tranquility in Findhorn Scotland. It was spacious, lovely and comfortable with every amenitie. A stones throw from the beach, and beautiful pub restaurants. I am already trying to plan my next stay. Even the neighbors were wonderful! Five star all the way "

"We are regulars to Findhorn and know the area well, Mint cottage was on an excellent par with other cottages that we have stayed at in and around Findhorn. Once we got the cottage warm, as we arrived when it was 0 degrees, we soon settled down to a very comfortable stay, the beds were very comfortable, having two bathrooms was a bonus, the cottage was very well equipped and we enjoyed staying there. The Bakehouse Cafe gets better every year and stood up to its good reputation, and the local post office always has what you need, and the beach - well that's the reason we return every year."

"Mint Cottage is a lovely little cottage, that's been beautifully decorated, and has everything a young family might need. The property is set in a wonderful location, just minutes from Findhorn Bay, with a local shop less than 50 meters away for all your essentials. It makes an ideal base for both the Highlands and the beautiful Speyside region, with all it's great distilleries and coastal walks. The cottage is exceptionally clean, with lovely fresh towels in plentiful supply, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. In the evening, the log burning real fire greats a very cosy atmosphere. All of the family, including the two small children, loved it and felt very safe there. I couldn't recommend it more highly. (We forgot to ask about the security deposit but trust absolutely that it will be returned promptly.)"
