Reviews of Sweetpea Cottage

"Gorgeous, pet friendly warm cottage. Lovely enclosed garden. Real home from home. Loved being able to close the lounge and bedroom doors to keep the dogs in the kitchen/ hallway- so helpful! Great location for New Lanark, Clyde Falls. Tinto great off lead walk for the dogs, but accessed via cafe entrance as more accessible. "

"My wife and I stayed for a short mid week break with our two Bernese Mountain dogs. The cottage was immaculately clean throughout and the heating had been left on prior to our arrival, creating a warm and cosy welcome. The walled garden was fantastic for the dogs and the place was a great base for some wider exploring around South Lanarkshire. I would highly reccomend Sweet Pea cottage for a very relaxing break!"

"We stayed at the Sweatpea Cottage for Christmas. It was the perfect place to get away from holiday stress and nonsense this time of year brings. It is such a comfortable place to relax and get away from everything. We were especially pleased that they allowed pets. We can imagine holidays without the stress but not our pet. It was nice having her with us. The cottage has everything you need to relax and feel at home - comfortable bed, fire place, stove, refrigerator, dishes, silverware, towels, television/cable, DVD player/DVD's, nice views of the garden, and the internet. Edinburgh is not too far. The town of Biggar is very close by and has some great places to eat. We loved our stay here. Will definitely try to come back if we are in the area. Highly recommended."

"Not sure what could have happened to first reviewer in May, can't have had cleaner turn up or something, but for us.... Nice cosy bolt-hole for couple of days. Big lawn for our dog to romp around. View to Tinto hill. Good kitchen - new fridge, cooker ok? - comfy living room. Shower could be improved. But it has what I want from a rural break (for a single or couple) - fresh air/water, peace and quiet, views and dark sky. It's a 'getaway' although wi-fi worked. Nearest civilisation, Biggar, nice town, liked Crown Inn"

"Arrived at cottage was smelly and dirty, neglected, wet towels hanging in shower room. Internal pictures of cottage on website bear little resemblance to what you are greeted with. Shower tray overflowed due to hair (human/animal)in plughole. Arrived on the Friday after travelling 5 hours to get there and spent at least 2 hours trying to clean the place. The fridge smells even though we cleaned it with anti-back, it made no difference, the cooker was so dirty we didn't even attempt to clean it.(not that we should be cleaning anything on holiday). Arrived on the Friday, relocated by Sykes to another cottage, which is absolutely beautiful. Find another cottage if you want to enjoy your holiday."
