Reviews of Woodlands

"This was our 5th visit to Woodlands...home from home. We feel relaxed the moment we cross the threshold of this charming old house. It is so comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The kids love watching the rabbits and birds in the front garden, looking for wildcats around the village or doing the multiple activities that the Cairngorms have to offer. Already booked for next year..."

"We were 6 adults who stayed for 5 nights at Woodlands during June. The weather was not always the best (no surprise), but coming home each evening to the cottage was warm and welcoming. On the 2 evenings we did have fine weather, we set up the supplied BBQ on the lawn and talked until the star came out. The house has one master bedroom with large bed, another large room with two single beds, and a smaller room with 'adult bunks'. I stayed in the bunk room, and while comfortable, it is a little on the small side if you have suitcases in there too. Other than that, everything was perfect. Lovely living room, a kitchen that had all the appliances we needed, washing machine and dryer, and a bathroom upstairs and down. The location is just off the main road, but within easy walking distance to the pub, restaurants, and shops. Overall a very pleasant stay,"

"My wife, son and I and a friend visited this property, and left at the end of week 1 of 2. Deisel smell permeated the house. Furniture was terribly soiled; we cleaned it. When we cleaned it, we used the Dyson cleaner that was already full, never emptied of old dirt. The washing machine required an extension cord from an outside room to an enclosed porch. The double master bedroom mattress was nearly unusable; it was like a roll out bed mattress. The kitchen was moderated equipped. Bathrooms were acceptable. There were, however, dead rats decaying under floorboards, the smell was very obvious. We all left with lung infections; our son went home to California with a bronchial disease. We complained to the agent, Sykes Cottages. Our two weeks was refunded to us and they arranged another cottage of our choice. We have photos of this experience and could share."

"This property had plenty of room and was well equipped. It easily accommodates 6 people, the members of our party were not sat on each others lap. The central heating was excellent and the house was warm when we got back from 8 hours of winter climbing in the Northern Corries. Will be booking this property next year."

"This is. Wonderful rental, with everything you could ever need. (Had to buy a snow shovel) . We stayed over Christmas, had family and friends for Christmas Day. Built snowmen. Watched films all snuggled up beside the log fire. The tree was glistening when we arrived. The local eateries are near, and good -with range of prices and also take always. We ate in mostly as kitchen had everything !! Beds comfy and warm, and everything to very high standard, and very clean. Cannot fault anything. Even red squirrel made a number of visits to the bird table. And is the most amazingly romantic place to accept a proposal of marriage!!!"

"The accommodation was very good and the location excellent. There was loads of family activities within the area that were a hit with the kids, teen and adults. We recommend doing the wildcat hunt, and purchasing the book from the centre on the high street. It may seem pricey, but it really is not, and was great fun. We will most certainly recommend the property, and are already wondering about booking it next year."
