Reviews of 10 Monarch Country Apartments

"My self and my wife stayed in this cosy Apartment for one week recently. Must Confess as a base for doing some nearby Climbing it was just Perfect. Apartment itself was just ideal. Spotlessly Clean and very quiet. Did not meet the owners but there was no need to as everything was arranged and taken care of in a professional manner. Price-wise it was excellent value for money. Would I recommend it - without Hesitation."

"Nice well equipped apartment in a quiet village. Good location for walking and getting around the Cairngorms and Loch Ness. The Glen Hotel close by for good food and drink. One negative would be the fridge was noisy."

"Unfortunately the elevator was broken, it was difficult with heavy luggages .. No hair dryer and no shower hose, liked the vintage aspect but really not practical.. But nice apartment, well situated and quiet place"

"We have just returned from a wonderful week of walking in our favourite part of Scotland. The weather was perfect and our accommodation at Monarch was excellent. Newtonmore is such a well - located village for walking. There are numerous hikes from the doorstep and the villagers so kind and friendly. We enjoyed a yummy meal and a beer or two in The Glen Hotel. It's always a joy to return to the highlands in Autumn particularly for my husband who grew up in this area.."

"Lovely apartment, with all the amenities you could need (tv, freeview, dvd, books, games, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine etc.). Good selection of pubs nearby. My only gripe was that the pillows were not very comfy, could do with replacing. Other than that, it was perfect! Would definitely recommend as a base for exploring Scotland and the Highlands."

"We stayed here from September 17th-24th 2016 and had a fabulous time. The apartment is not only clean, it's well stocked, which isn't something we expected. Plenty of information is available about the area, even a large map of the surroundings. All the furnishings are clearly looked after, and it's clearly been decorated with such thought, it was a home from home for us whilst we were away. Previous reviews were right about the kitchen being a joy to cook in and there being a fabulous power shower. There's also a very spacious bedroom, large bed, plenty of storage and an every so comfortable large sofa to unwind on after the many many different days outside in the Scottish Highlands. Everybody we met in Newtonmore was welcoming and friendly, which was really just the icing on the cake. 100% recommend this apartment. From the ease of booking to value for money, it's helped make our holiday fantastic and create memories we wouldn't be without. Thanks for a wonderful stay."

"We have stayed here twice now for the village golf week in August, it suits us perfectly. The apartment is in the centre of the village and is a mere walk to the golf course. Plenty of room to store our golf bags and trollies in the lobby area. The flat is on the top floor but there is a lift if required. in the flat everything is there for your trip, washing machine, dish washer, central heating, you just have to bring you and your clothes. The bedroom is a large size with plenty of storage and also houses a couple of extra mattresses if you have folk round to stay, the lounge is suitably big enough to accommodate three more. there is obviously cooking facilities but then why bother when there is a good range and selection of places to eat all within five minutes of walking. We love this apartment as our base, couldn't be better."

"The apartment is one of the best places we've stayed in Scotland. Being at the top floor of a former very elegant hotel, you have surrounding views of mountains, the town of Newtonmore, trees and the skies, so it almost feels like your own - extremely comfortable - tree house. We are a couple travelling with our 3 year old daughter and found entertainment for adults and children in the apartment, the amenities were all we needed (dishwasher and washing machine included!) and the location within Newtonmore and in the Cairngorm Mountains is simply great. When we come back to Newtonmore or the are, we would always pick this place!"

"A high quality apartment done out beautifully. It was spotlessly clean with a powerful shower, great if you are hill walkers! The kitchen was very well equipped and all the utensils and china of high quality. Kitchen was a joy to cook in and just like being at home and normally I dislike holiday home kitchens. Bedroom was large and roomy with great views and very comfortable sitting room. In a great location right in the centre of Newtonmore village and easy access to lots of activities. Only improvement could have been the provision of wifi as it is a 3g blackspot. I would happily have paid more for this, but I knew when I booked it had no wifi. Could get BT wifi in lobby area. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to go back! Must see the highland folk museum as just a short walk down the road and try the The Grill at Newtonmore for a great breakfast."
