Set under the mountain range An Teallach, and offering some wonderful views down Little Loch Broom, Dundonnell in the Wester Ross region, is a great holiday base for this part of Scotland. Within easy driving distance from Ullapool, this area has mountains to conquer, plentiful walking trails, varied wildlife and sandy beaches. There is also sea, loch and river fishing, pony trekking, and scuba diving off the nearby Summer Isles.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
