Reviews of Glencanisp

"The owners got in contact before our stay with key arrival information. 6 of us (my mother, wife and 3 children) stayed here last week. We were met at the house on arrival and given a short tour along with being introduced to the need-to-knows about the house - heating, TV, WiFi etc. Log fire in both the kitchen/diner and the lounge. With 4 comfortable bedrooms (1 ensuite), family bathroom along with downstairs shower room there's enough space for everyone to get ready in the morning for days out exploring the Highlands. Glencanisp is well placed for Aviemore, Cairngorms National Park as well as a 50 minute-is drive to Loch Ness. Both main rooms downstairs have Sky TV and there is excellent WiFi. A wonderful stay in an immaculately clean, tidy and beautiful house. We hope to be back soon!"

"Returning to Glencanisp felt like comming home. We had a great time in this perfectly equipped and imacculate house where we could all get out to explore during the day and then relax together at night. We had all 4 generations together again with plenty of space to let the little ones play while the elders relaxed over dinner and board games. Thanks again"

"Glencanisp is a 10 minute level walk to the shops and excellent eateries, and a short drive to a great sledging area and the Cairngorm mountain railway. This was our second stay at this great family house - just like coming home. Warm, cosy but plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 children aged from 17 to 8. The kitchen and dining area is a wonderful space for socialising, with a really good utility room with excellent washing machine and tumble dryer. We also love the American style fridge/freezer which dispenses ice and good tasting chilled water. The beds are really comfortable, everything is clean and well presented, and there is good parking. The communication with the owners, Diane and Ian, is excellent, and they are anxious to make your stay a really good one, which indeed it was. Thank you for another lovely stay - with the added bonus of some lovely snow....."

"Stayed here in March with a group of 8 as part of a hillwalking group. The cottage is traditional, and well furnished with plenty of space to eat, cook or relax together. All the bathrooms are modern and the kitchen is well equipped. It also has drying facilities in the utility room. Plenty of restaurants and food nearby if you don't want to cook. We ALL really enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back again. The weather this week was also stunning, which helped!"

"Stayed at Glencanisp for a week in July. The cottage is great for a large group such as ours ( 3 couples with 2 children aged 6 and 19 months). The cottage (I'd call it a house) has all that you require for a stay and was very clean when we arrived. An 8 minute walk brings you into the town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Would I stay there again? I'm not sure due to the traffic noise in the early mornings. If you can sleep through that then, yes, it's a good place to stay."

"A very spacious and comfortable cottage within a walking distance off the Aviemore main-shopping area and very close to local bus stops. Good for both the groups of hikers and the skiers/snowboarders, with plenty of room to dry clothes, 2 showers, a bath, 4 bedrooms for up to 8 people, huge kitchen and a very nice living room, both with fire-stoves for extra warmth and comfort. Also books, DVDs, tabletop games to spend an evening. And some very beautiful views from windows as well. Been coming to Aviemore every winter for a few years now, for the mountain. Sadly, it was closed due to heavy snow and strong winds. Thankfully, the cottage had everything to keep us very comfortable, and the area have plenty of "poor-weather walks" to occupy restless skiers/snowboarders with no mountain available. First time staying at Glencanisp. Very probably, that will stay there again next year."

"This is a fantastic holiday home that has everything you could ever need; from a slow cooker (handy for having meals ready when coming home from a long day sightseeing) to the games, toys and books for children. The accommodation is very spacious and comfortable. I was especially impressed with the beds, most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in. Glencanisp is only a 5-10 minute walk from main town centre with lots of nice bars, restaurants and shops. All in all I would highly recommend this property."
