The Apartment in Achnasheen

Welcome to The Apartment. Aultbea is situated on the north-eastern shore of Loch Ewe and is sheltered from the westerly winds by the Isle of Ewe.

Accommodation

All first floor. Three bedrooms: 2 x double (one with en-suite shower, basin and WC), 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area.

Location

The Apartment is situated just 6 miles from Aultbea and offers accommodation for 6 people; a superb base for large families or groups of friends. It is set on a working croft in Mellon Udrigle – a small collection of cottages and farmsteads - and offers shared use of the owner's garden. There is trout-fishing nearby and the property is superbly located to take in the views across the sea and the mountains. A short walk away is Mellon Udrigle's golden-sanded beach, one of the most attractive pieces of coastline you'll find in Wester Ross.

It is a small village with a small harbour at Aird Point, from which you can enjoy boat-trips around the sandy and rocky coast. Aultbea has two churches, a shop, a butcher's, 2 hotels and a local craft shop. The village also plays host to a N.A.T.O base. Large ships often come inshore to refuel here and you can occassionally see warships in the Loch. Aultbea has an annual "fun day" where most people from the village turn up and play football or socialise over a homebaked scone. Nearby you can enjoy the spectacle ofthe famous Intervewe Gardens, a sub-tropical arboretum that is open throughout the year. This part of Scotland is perfect for those who want to explore the country's history and experience the abundance of natural beauty that it offers.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
