Reviews of Callanish

"Fyi the garden shown in the photos looks nothing like real life. I found the garden covered in dog poo. The beds are cheap, thin mattresses and very uncomfortable. The shower in the main bathroom is either freezing or boiling. The kitchen lacks basic equipment like baking sheets and the oven was filthy. The wifi is next door and is almost non functional by the time it reaches through the wall. The sofas and chairs are very old, stained and uncomfortable. The carpets are old and stained. None of the windows in this bungalow have net curtains for privacy, not even the bedrooms and the owner regularly walks past. The tv is tiny, has terrible sound quality and is linked to the wifi next door and so buffers all the time. I wont be returning, steer clear if you have back issues, children (cos dog poo) or don't want to spend a fortune on mobile data. "

"This house is great for families. Really well equipped, warm and cosy. Garden is a bonus, totally enclosed, so children and dog could be let out with no worries. Owner is very welcoming and friendly, as is her dogs. An easy walk takes you to the beach, which we visited every day. Hope to have a return visit next year."

"Anthony's sister is writing this review: Wonderful environs. Very friendly owner with warm welcome. Her pet dogs reflected owners warmth. Beautiful welcome of Shortbread and wine in the fridge and flowers in the bedrooms. The amount of books and DVDs helped wile away the evening after the days adventure. Food from various chip shops and restaurants were amazing. ( The family heartily recommend Yu Wu a Chinese Restaurant near the Oban Docks and swimming centre named Atlantis. Mum and I also recommend the Boho Brow Bar for a bit of inexpensive pampering!) The showers were easy to use and comfortable to stand up in and, I also was pleased to see that hairdryers were provided - though I did pack my own just in case as the last place we stayed did not provide one. A special word goes out to Tilly and Brodie - the most loveliest (aside from my own one of course!) dogs in the world who helped my stay be more fun."

" The location and garden were perfect. The cottage was immaculately clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly want in a home from home. The beds, linen and towels were very nice and the owner left milk, wine her homemade shortbread and flowers - unexpected and very much appreciated. We were all sad to leave and felt a week was not long enough in Benderloch and look forward to going back for two weeks next time."

"This is an outstanding property and a credit to the owner. The milk, sugar, coffee and tea along with home made shortbread was both welcoming and a small touch that was appreciated by all my party. This was by far the most spacious and well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in and my party are hopeful to return in the future. The whole week was just brilliant, please pass on our thanks."
