Reviews of The Hall West

"The accommodation was fine but on our 2nd day the boiler broke and it was not repaired for the whole of our stay. The first few days were spent convincing the owners the boiler which supplied both hot water and heat wasn't working. After that it was a guessing game to find out if anyone came to fix it or even look at the problem. The owner seemed to think that one electric shower and the log burner in the living area was sufficient for our weeks holiday in March !!! Nice view of snow top mountains from our freezing bedrooms. And a miserable 15% compensation for a week without heat or hot water!! Not the customer service I expect"

"The location of this cottage is in a sleepy village a stones throw from Loch Lomond. Tucked away on a private road, it is quiet, idyllic and beautifully appointed. The cottage was clean, tidy and well appointed when we arrived and the views were quite simply stunning. The doors on the living room/kitchen give a picture postcard view of the landscape (including the loch) and the telescope provided was a huge attraction for the kids. Upstairs there are two well appointed bedrooms with incredible views over the loch. Things to consider are: there is parking for two cars (one in a garage), the mobile reception is patch (which we thought was bliss) and there is internet, provided by a dongle (not broadband) which again was more than adequate for us and added to the relaxation. Could not recommend this place more."

"The Hall West is lovely and mostly very well appointed, and we were very comfortable there. The main rooms were very spacious and even better than they appeared in the listing, with a view over Loch Lomond. The heating is good and the kitchen facilities most satisfactory. Six of us stayed there without feeling crowded. However anyone wanting to bring 2 cars needs to be aware that parking for one is in the garage, which is not large enough for any but the tiniest car driven by a contortionist. The alternative is a long way down an unlit, muddy track and across a very busy main road - not satisfactory if the plan is to use it every day."

All decent facilities and excellent helpful communication from the owner whilemail we were there. Slight moan is no drawers or hanging space in third bedroom. Lovely relaxing week."

"Lovely cottage in secluded area with good views over Loch Lomond. The house facilities are to very good standard although minor touches like mirrors in bathrooms would help. We booked the cottage for six people but due to illness one couple were unable to come on holiday. The major problem with this cottage is that there is only parking for one car. If you have more than one car, the owner asks you to park at Duck Bay Marina or at Cameron House about 3/4 of a mile away. Alas we were informed about the car parking issue one day prior to arriving at the cottage. If we had known about the one car parking issue we would not have booked this cottage. If you have only one car then I would definitely recommend the cottage for a holiday."
