The village of Friockheim (pron. Free-come) sits in the county of Angus and is close to the major towns of Arbroath, Montrose and Forfar. The name derives from the Gaelic for 'Heather Home' and was originally designed to house workers for a nearby flax spinning mill. Today, there is a newsagent, supermarket, chemist and a couple of pubs. The village gives easy access to the surrounding towns as well as spectacular Lunan Bay to the east.
