Belderrig is a traditional Irish hamlet located on the North coast of County Mayo, on the Wild Atlantic Way route. This is an idyllic area where true Irish hospitality can be found in abundance. Village life revolves around the fishing community and a great opportunity to meet the locals is in the village pub, offering true Irish fayre and plenty of 'craic'. The area is known for its historical and archaeological heritage with the Belderrig Cliffs offering some of most spectacular coastal geology in Ireland. A little further afield but within easy touring distance of this hamlet is the beautiful and bustling town of Ballina, County Mayo's largest town. With the ruins of Moyne Abbey, Rosserk Friary dating back to the 15th century, many boutiques, shops, pubs and restaurants, there is plenty on offer in Ballina at any time of year.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Reviews of Belderrig Cottage

""Getting away from it all" is a phrase often used, but seldom does a place really hit the perfect 'chill-out' note that this cottage does. With spectacular sea views from the living room, cosy turf fires plus all the mod-cons of modern living we could happily have spent the week just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. But walks along the nearby cliffs and hills were too good to miss, as was tracking down the ancient archelogical remains that are everywhere around this area. The owners Mary & Padraig were wonderful - welcoming and friendly but never intrusive. Made us feel totally at home. Will definitely be back."
