Reviews of Corn Crake

"I had three wonderful nights in this cottage with my husband, daughter and son in law. There was everything you needed. The views are astonishing 10 minutes from a beautiful beach and surrounded by greenery. Three large bedrooms and the bonus of an open fire. Very clean and comfortable.. I would highly recommend this. Hope to return for another visit. "

"This cottage was spacious and has all the amenities you would want including a large private garden. It was 10 minutes walk from a beautiful beach, which we went to several times. Louisburgh was also about 10-15 minutes away, but not a lot there in the way of shops/restaurants. What the cottage lacked however, was the finishing touches. The kitchen equipment such as crockery was obviously old and some were chipped and comprised of a collection of mismatched plates etc. Bearing in mind there was a dishwasher and room for 7 adults, there was simply not enough plates cups and glasses. The chairs in the kitchen had screws loose and the ice box in the fridge was broken and completely iced up. Would have expected the fridge to have been inspected and defrosted before we arrived. The kitchen, which was quite large had one central light with a 50 watt bulb in which made if difficult to play games at the table as you couldn't see much! Also made it look even dingier! There were no mirrors or dressing tables to put make-up and toiletries on, in the bedroom and a lack of bedroom chairs. The sitting room had only room to seat 4, so had there been 7 of us, not sure where the other 3 would have sat! The settee was also very uncomfortable to sit on. Not sure if the back was broken but it leaned back a long way. Owners need to upgrade the standard as people expect more from a holiday home these days."

"Corn Crake is warm and perfect for a holiday with pets. We arrived feeling cold and tired and were met with warm air when we opened the door. Plenty of parking and in a quiet location where you can hear all the wildlife and see the stunning views on the doorstep and the stunning, unspoilt beach, which is within a 10 min walk. and unspoilt."

"The house is large, with three bedrooms and two baths, good for six people. The scenery from one of the bedrooms is great, excellent from the kitchen and not bad at all from the other rooms. Our hostess was really helpful and took great care for us in a most friendly way. Ten points out of ten, with hugs and thanks. "

"Overall an excellent property in a fabulous location. Although the property was situated in a rural location, it was within walking distance of the town & beach. The rooms were very bright & spacious, and the free WiFi was excellent. Had very spacious garden & parking facilities. We would highly recommend this property for anyone."

"Really good. Halfway between the beach and the town of Louisburgh so the kids could walk to either anytime they wanted. Everything I needed was there. I would recommend it and would go there again in a flash."
