Reviews of The Old House

"At the end of a private country road, in a private flourishing valley lies this charming old whitewashed cottage, a picturesque hideaway, and only 15 mins from one of the best salmon rivers in Europe. The house has kept its historical Irish charm and beautifully decorated with attention to detail. We had the pleasure of spending 3 weeks at the old house. It's very comfortable with modern appliances throughout the house. It has the comfiest beds I've ever experienced and dressed with linen from the local Foxford woollen mills. A charming loft looks down over the wood burning stove in the living area. At the side of the house are Wild blackberries, apple trees, elderberries and even wild edible mushrooms a foragers wonderland. Our 2 daughters loved the local wildlife, foxes, pine Martin, rabbits & snivel birds. A perfect old house in a tranquil setting. Highly recommended and definitely returning. My only disappointment was... I didn't book it for 6 weeks instead of 3"

"I stayed here with my family whilst on holidays in Ireland. It's an old traditional Irish cottage which has been tastefully restored to give it a real authentic feel. Tucked away in the countryside of county Mayo, it's in a perfect location for exploring the west of Ireland. So peaceful so cosy so perfect. A real experience!"

The cottage is in a lovely, quiet location and has a wood burner along with lots of stunning original and unique features. We really could not have picked a better place to get away from it all. Really hoping to visit again soon."
