Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1.5 miles. Note: Owner has cats and dogs which may roam in property grounds. Note: No TV.

With the county town of Kilkenny a short drive away, offering a whole host of amenities, Callan Thatched Cottage makes a great base for a holiday in south east Ireland.
Kilkenny is the county town of County Kilkenny and is a lively city with many shops, bars, pubs and restaurants, a 12th century castle and the St. Francis Abbey Brewery, the oldest brewery in Ireland. Several annual festivals are held in the city including the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in June and the Kilkenny Celtic Festival in September and October. Counties Tipperary and Waterford are within touring distance.
Known as the "Sunny South East", the counties of Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, and Tipperary offer everything you could need for a dream holiday in Ireland. Miles of sandy beach and scenic drives taking in mountains and coast are on your doorstep.

"Staying in a thatched covered cottage was so special. The cottage is located in the country side. It was just what we wanted to experience. The best part was meeting the owners, they helped us find things that aren't in the travel books, but were some of the best we had seen. It was magical."

"We stayed here from 6th - 23rd August, it was fantastic!! Clean, warm, cosy, great facilities, everything you need, like a home from home. The proprietors are lovely, friendly people who can't do enough to help. The property is in a great location for visiting the surrounding areas, Kells, Kilkenny, Tramore. The only negative I have is that it lists a TV as an amenity of which there was not one. However, one was not needed as the weather was kind and there was so much to do and see around the area. Would definitely recommend this property to a friend and hopefully stay there again ourselves."

"The cottage is beautiful, very clean, and has everything you need, and more, fantastic!! A great location for Kilkenny and surrounding areas. The owners are a lovely, welcoming couple and a fountain of knowledge! Will be paying this cottage a visit again!!!"
