Reviews of Millfield

"The owner was an excellent host, she did everything to make our stay excellent. This was the best equipped Sykes cottage we have rented. There was plenty of room to store our food there was a salad spinner which delighted my wife. The house looks small from the front but it is very spacious inside."

"Millfield is ideally situated for seeing the Ring of Kerry, the Beara Peninsular and West Cork. The house is very comfortable and spacious with large bedrooms. It is also extremely well equipped with all you need for a self catering holiday. There is a 10-15 minute stroll, via a well lit short-cut, into Kenmare which is a lovely, lively town with lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. Another plus is the house now has Wi-Fi. Gail met us at the house, she's a delightful lady and left us the best welcome pack we've had on our many self catering holidays. Well done and thank you Gail."

"Very easy arrangements to arrive and a lovely warm welcome. The house is very spacious, spotlessly clean, furnished very comfortably with more than enough of everything we could have wanted. All fitments were nice quality. Brilliant location for the Rings of Beara and Kerry. Kenmare was still bustling in late November with plenty of choice of places to eat. Easy drive from Kerry Airport. One of the best places we have stayed."

"The perfect location to explore the south! This home is located about a block off the Ring of Kerry. The town of Kenmare is beautiful and the people are friendly. The house was much bigger than we expected and would be perfect for a family trip. Everything in the house was perfect! And Gail was so helpful! I would HIGHLY recommend staying here! Also dont worry about the heat and electric cost, it was cold during our stay and it cost us less than $20 :)"

"We had a wonderful family holiday at Millfield. Booking and correspondence with Gail, the owner, was easy and everything was as advertised. Gail gave us a really warm welcome and the welcome pack of both essentials and treats was very much appreciated. The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfy and equipped to a very high standard with plenty of space for us all to chill out. As we were lucky enough to have a very good weather the garden was really appreciated. Millfield's in a great location just a 10/15 minute stroll into Kenmare and right on the Ring of Kerry with its spectacular views and access to Killarney and the Beara Peninsular - lots of places to visit. Kenmare offers lots of shops, cafes and restaurants but it was just a stroll down the road to the lovely Rose Garden cafe - a great place to enjoy coffee and cake (and free wifi!). We would definitely recommend Millfield."

"We truly had the luck of the Irish with us when we stumbled upon this gem of a house for our vacation in the South West of Ireland. Everything about this place was great- the ample kitchen, the 2 1/2 bathrooms, the cosy fireplace, the great fixtures and finishes and the comfortable bedrooms were all nicer than the online pictures conveyed. The owner has quite a collection of literature about everything to do in the region, and we found ourselves routinely using these references to help us explore this great country. One of our favourite parts of staying here was that when we returned at the end of the day, it was nice to take a stroll into Kenmare and enjoy all that the wonderful town has to offer. We really could not ask for any improvement on any front! Thanks again for a great stay, and we would not even consider staying anywhere else if we were to return to the area! "

"This is an outstanding property with ample accommodation to sleep 5 comfortably. The house is equipped to a very high level with no requirement omitted. The house is prepared and cleaned exceptionally. The location is perfect with a ten minute walk via a lit footpath to central Kenmare. This not a house on a "ghost development" but half of two semi-detached houses in their own environment which includes front and rear gardens. Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect is the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Gail O'Sullivan who welcomed us with a bottle of wine, chocolates, bread, eggs, milk and a chocolate cake! Gail made every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We will certainly come again"
