Reviews of Gallivans

"I booked this cottage as weekend getaway for me and my family in April. The cottage is very spacious and well equipped with everything you would need. It is located in a small little town with just a handful of shops/pubs but it is only a short drive further afield to find a larger selection of shops and restaurants. The views from this cottage were great we loved having breakfast at the dining table each morning looking out to it all. The cottage is down a small country road where there isn't a foot path so you need to be careful of the odd car if walking to/from the beach and it is also very steep in parts. It took us about 25 mins to walk to the pub one evening but I'd say you would have to be fairly fit to get up the hill. The owner and his brother were lovely my dad is from derrynane so they asked around and it turns out some of the locals used to know my family many years ago! It was a lovely bonus talking to people and hearing stories about them! Overall a great few days away. Would recommend this cottage."

"This was our fourth summer holidaying in Caherdaniel and our first stay in Gallivan's. Definitely not our last! The house is spacious, well equipped and very clean. It is ideally located, within walking distance of Derrynane Beach. It had everything we needed for our family holiday and we have taken away lots of great memories from our stay."

"The accommodation was very spacious and well laid out. Very comfortable beds and plenty of towels etc. There was garden furniture to sit out in the sun on the patio which was great. There was plenty of hot water and we were in control of the heating and could use the open fire if needed as turf etc was supplied. The views from the house were great from the kitchen table. The utility room was well equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer which was very useful for managing with small children's needs. The owners were very helpful providing cots and high-chairs and even ice as requested."
