Reviews of King Cottage

"This cottage is remote and wonderful, it is for people who appreciate the sea and country Ireland. The owners make you welcome and if you talk with the local people they have wonderful tales to tell."

"This cottage was in a superb setting, it was an ideal place for relaxing or getting out and about. It suited us down to the ground, we needed to get away from it all and chill out. The owners and caretakers were very friendly and helpful. The cottage was warm and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. We intend to return in the future!"

"My sister and I decided to fulfill our Mom's dream and take her to Ireland. She wanted a taste of the old Ireland and to meet the Irish people. And Cleggan delivered big time. King Cottage was exactly as the ad described it. The fireplace and the view from the patio doors was so relaxing. The sound of the ocean and watching boats leave and enter the harbour took her back to her youth in Newfoundland. Even though Cleggan is a small town it is a busy little hub because it is a ferry point for the island of Inishbofin. It has four friendly pubs and you can get wifi at Olivers. Try the Fish and Chips Takeaway and Restaurant if you want fish and chips.. It beats either restaurant. Chips are very white in Ireland but you can always ask to have them browned. We never met the owner of Kings Cottage but his brother John King and wife Theresa were amazing hosts. From fresh fish delivered to a longliner ride we were made to feel very at home. There were any number of day trips from Cleggan. We took the bus to Galway for the day. Clifden is only 11 km away and is a wonderful place to eat and shop. I get homesick when I look at the pictures. I highly recommend this area of Ireland and King Cottage. And Western Kingfisher Sea Angling run by John King guarantees a great trip on the ocean."

"A good cottage in a fantastic location. Cleggan is a warm and welcoming place which we have visited several times before. Loads of good music in the villages and nearby Clifden. Spectacular scenery all around. Absolutely no complaints about the service at all."

"We had a fantastic stay in King Cottage, Cleggan. The house was perfect in a beautiful location over-looking the harbour and the sunset we had on one or two evenings was spectacular. We were in a central location to visit places such as Inish-boffin, Cliften, Connemara National Park and there were beautiful beaches very close by. The owners of the house were really friendly and helpful and they left milk, butter, fresh bread and also dropped in fresh fish on our first day which was really appreciated and made us feel very welcome. We'll definitely be back."
