The small rural village of Convoy in County Donegal is surrounded by countryside and offers a pub and church. The twin towns of Stranorlar and Ballybofey are separated by the River Finn, which is excellent for fishing. Stranorlar, smaller of the two towns has a church and nearby is the Lough Allen bird sanctuary and Drumboe Woods, which has good walking routes.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
