Reviews of Birch Tree Cottage

"This house was amazing; we've stayed at lots of holiday homes in Ireland, and this was one of the best! The location was perfect: the house is surrounded by well-kept shrubbery and hedges, giving it a secluded feel, but within easy walking distance of the quaint town of Castletownbere. Upon arrival we discovered a lavish welcome pack of fresh fruit, biscuits, tea, two kinds of bread, butter and jam, and a quart of milk! The house is beautiful and definitely not a typical rental, more like an up-scale Irish home. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked, with beautiful crockery and glasses, and new pots and pans and skillets, which made cooking a breeze. The beds were delightfully comfortable, the showers supplied instantaneous hot water with great pressure, and the bed linens and towels were thick and plush. It was a bit nippy some mornings, but not to worry-you could turn on the heat in whatever room you desired, and it quickly took the chill off. Every room was immaculately clean and well-appointed, and the gardens were beautiful. The surrounding area was quiet and peaceful, with sheep and cows and an occasional hare for company. No wonder this house is usually rented; if you see that it's available, book it! You'll be so glad you did!"

"Really fantastic cottage to stay in. Immaculate inside and out. About half a mile from the fishing village. Beautiful views of the mountains in front and back. It was a long drive from the ferry port of Rosslare, but well worth it when you arrived. The village is on the Ring of Beara, so there is lots to see. Don't miss the only cable car in Ireland. You can pay to go in it to Dursey Island. Its the only cable car to go over open sea. Overall we had a fantastic week staying in this cottage."

"This place is the most amazing place l have ever stayed at. The cottage/house is as good if not better than the pictures on website. We arrived and found, fruit bread milk tea etc etc etc there for us. Warm and spotlessly clean. Kitchen with every conceivable thing you would need. Washing facilities,so don't go taking piles of clothes,it's easy in washing machine with indoor drying area as well as outdoor. Tv s everywhere. DVDs player in fact if you can find anything that the owner hasn't catered for you're a better man than me Gungadin. I called Betty for directions for collecting the keys, what a lovely friendly lady she is. Nothing was to much bother for her and her family. Well now l have been spoils,so l am going to find it very hard to follow a place like this. Thank you so much Betty for everything,we loved your house and we will be back. "The cottage was one of the best we've stayed in. A beautiful location and a wonderful cottage. Everything you could want was provided and it worked brilliantly for us as two couples staying there. The garden was an absolute delight. The cottage was brilliantly located being within 10 minutes walk (5 minutes cycle ride) from town, yet feeling as though you were in the country and with amazing views."

"This holiday cottage was great. Excellent location, detached from immediate neighbours, peaceful, 1km from heart of town - far enough out to be quiet, close enough to walk into town (and back, after a meal!). Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of hot water for multiple baths if needed (easy to work heating / hot water controls). There was plenty of space and seating for people to spread out (the lounge, the conservatory, and settee in dining room). This also allowed for people who like different ambient temperatures - warmer in the conservatory, cooler in the sitting room. Beautiful garden. Use of garage, very useful for bikes or other equipment. Owners very welcoming and friendly. The town itself has some good places to eat, and Supavalu store has all the basics and more, and good walking and cycling locally."

All is perfect with the house and it is all to a high standard. Out 10 I would give 11/10! or higher. All was perfect."
