Reviews of The Lodge

"We hired this cottage through Sykes cottages for one week starting June 29th 2019. Easy to find after visiting Blarney castle and gardens, the cottage is the old gatehouse at the beginning of a long drive that leads up to the main Cannaway House. Very friendly welcome in collecting the keys at the house, the proprietor then came down to the lodge and showed us the 'in's and out's' and also the invitation to come up to the main house and have full use fo the games room and enjoy a drink form the bar, this we did. Delightful open plan dining/sitting and kitchen area, very large bedrooms all en suite and the appropriate facilities. Perfect location, quiet, fantastic views of the countryside and easy to traverse local lanes and short drive to main routes. We used local eateries/shops in Macroom(5 miles), Coachford(2 miles), and this was our base for exploring County Cork and Kerry and a trip up to Ennis and the Irish Open golf at Lahinch. Wonderful Irish cottage and hospitality, thank you to all concerned."

"Lovely house. Was a bit chilly the first night, but we hadn't quite mastered the heating. Logs left for a lovely stove. Lovely tranquil area, close, by car to all amenities. Not much contact with owners but were advised they were there whenever needed, which we didn't! House was lovely n clean, beds freshly made. Showers worked great. Fault-no sharp knife to prep veg etc, maybe sharp knives are not allowed!! Would go again!! "
