Reviews of Rickyard Cottage

"Rickyard Cottage is warm and welcoming and lives up to the billing on the Sykes website. Lying in the lee of the Malvern Hills, it's pretty isolated so a vehicle is essential, but the nearest pub is just a 15 minute stroll down a country lane. A well stocked shop and coffee house can be found in Welland about 1.5 miles away. The cottage's central heating is more than adequate, but there is a log burner too to add atmosphere. This is excellent walking country. Castlemorton Common, once infamous for an illegal rave, is just a couple of hundred yards from the cottage while the attractive towns of Ledbury and Great Malvern, with it's superb priory, excellent theatre and Morgan Car museum and shop are within a short car journey."

The owners said that they have put into the cottage all the things they wanted from years of staying in other people's cottages, and it shows. It really was lovely to stay there - I cannot recommend it highly enough."

It was very comfortable and roomy which was great for the 4 of us. There was plenty of hot water and heating which was lovely as it was a rather rainy week! Lovely location with lots of nice walks around. Lovely and peaceful and hardly any Mobile Phone reception which was bliss!! Log fire an added bonus!"

"A lovely, warm, homely cottage in a great location. Handy for exploring the Malvern Hills. Two pubs, both offering food, within walking distance. We had a very friendly welcome, (complete with milk in the fridge, lemon cake and a bottle of local wine!) from the owners who then left us in peace to enjoy our stay, but we knew they were around if we needed anything. Unfortunately, the weather was very unseasonal for Easter, so we were unable to take advantage of the (unheated) conservatory which had pleasant views of the orchard and hills (although the latter were mostly obscured by trees). We stay in a cottage every year for a week of the school Easter holidays, and have never yet returned to the same one twice. However, we have promised ourselves to return to this one, when the weather is better, so that we can enjoy the conservatory and further explore the area without snow on the ground! I was almost reluctant to leave a good review, because we'd like to keep this little gem to ourselves! :-)"

"The setting in which the cottage stands is the most picturesque we have ever stayed in, the photos on the website do not do it justice! The conservatory was a real bonus and this led out on to a large decked area with good quality garden furniture. The cottage itself was just what we wanted with everything on one level, with lots of little extras left for us to use like kitchen towel roll, foil, cling-film and a pack of toilet rolls. The owners also left milk and wine in the fridge and a homemade cake, which was a very nice touch. It was such a nice change to have a good information pack with detailed info and lots about the local area, so often this pack is an after thought and very sparse with some out of date leaflets thrown in a drawer! Overall, a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with friendly owners and we hope to stay again in the future. "
