The historic village of Addingham nestles in the valley of the River Wharfe between Ilkley and Skipton, just 3 miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. Today's village is a thriving, small community with several good pubs serving fine ale and excellent food, a scatteriang of small shops and a delightful golf course surrounded by breathtaking countryside. Nearby Bolton Abbey is one of the region's most scenic areas and the walk along the river to the 'Strid' is a must.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Reviews of Heron

"We have returned from a wonderful week at Heron cottage. It is a beautifully ddecorated and very well equipped cottage. It's by the river Wharf, with gentle walks along the river on the doorstep. The hot tub was a big hit. As the previous comment noted, the cottage backs on to new lodges which are being built, along with a small cafe/ bistro just beyond the garden fence. These were unoccupied during our visit, but potential visitors to Heron ought to appreciate this isn't an isolated property miles from anywhere. If you like the buzz of a holiday park & the convenience of somewhere to eat over the garden fence ( and if the cafe reflects the standard of the cottage , which I'm sure it will) it's bound to be excellent, this is definitely a place to try. The Dales are captivating ."
