Electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave. TV/DVD. Bed linen and towels included free of charge. Off road parking for two cars. Gravelled courtyard, BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 2 miles. Pub 50 yards. Beach 16 miles. Note: Property does not accept worker bookings.

Location

The quiet village of Wookey at the foot of the Mendip Hills is home to The Old Cider Barn. There is much to see and do in this picturesque region, from stunning limestone gorges and caves to the wetlands of the Somerset Levels and the spectacular northern coastline. A perfect base for exploring this diverse area, The Old Cider has been well designed and finished to a high standard, This charming cottage is light and spacious throughout with wooden floors and a handsome bespoke staircase. A selection of paintings by local artists adds to the ambience of the cottage which comprises a large lounge, well equipped kitchen/diner, two bedrooms and a family bathroom. Enjoy a BBQ in the small courtyard garden, or if you don't feel like cooking the cosy, child-friendly 16th century Ring O' Bells pub is just a short walk from the cottage, and serves home cooked meals.

Wells is a city full of history and things to do, playing host to the Bishop's Palace and the adjacent 12th century castle. It also boasts a range of shops, restaurants and pubs to make the most of. The Mendip Hills AONB is nearby and offers fine walking and cycling opportunities. Nearby, visit Glastonbury and Cheddar for fun-packed days out.

"Visited here several times hopefully next month again. Very close to the local pub. Very clean. Nice owner lives next door very helpful. Lounge and kitchen downstairs two nice bedrooms upstairs. Great! "
