Reviews of The Drover's Rest

"We recently stayed at Drovers rest and it was a perfect base for walking Hadrians wall. It was clean, well stocked and extremely comfortable. There is an excellent bus/train service on your doorstep and a lovely pub opposite ( the black bull) The owner was there to meet us on arrival and left us with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates.... thank you very much. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would stay here again should we return to holiday in this area."

"The living accommodation was close to ideal. The WIFI in the accomodation was good. The ease of access to Northern Britain that Haltwhistle provided, we had side trips to Edinburgh and Windernere and day excursions to Durham and Settle. The range of provisions, services and activities available in Haltwhistle. The efficiency and regularity of the UK railways. We intend to book again next year, and from Haltwhistle will revisit Edinburgh, and make side trips to Glasgow and York."

"This first floor apartment was large, spotlessly clean and the feature bay window allowed plenty of natural light. The kitchen was fully functional with a large dining table and two very comfortable settees to watch the large flat screen TV. The spacious bedroom was clean and comfortable with plenty of storage. The large bathroom was only let down by the smallish shower however there was constant hot water and plenty of towels provided. The apartment was located in the middle of a very friendly town with easy walking to the supermarket and the local (extremely hospitable) pubs. A short walk to the train station makes this apartment accessible to those without a car. This was an ideal spot to visit Hadrians Wall as well countless walks and we would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and relatives."
