The village of Malham is an ideal base for visitors to the Dales who come to see one of Britain's most impressive natural features - Malham Cove. The Cove consists of a natural cavern or 'amphitheatre' of limestone rock stretching 75 metres in height and 300 metres around the perimeter. A steep walk up man-made steps is rewarded with a superb view across moors and limestone pavements to Malham Tarn - the Pennines' highest natural lake. The village itself has pubs and tearooms and a National Park Centre.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

"Woodside Cottage was just perfect in every way for our week long stay in the Dales. Very comfortable and clean, beautifully furnished, equipped with everything you need (including a good WiFi connection). It was quiet, had a secure garage for our bikes, a car parking space and only a 3 minute walk to either of the 2 village pubs. We loved spending the evenings in front of the fire after a day walking or mountain biking and a pint at the pub. It was a real home from home that we did not want to leave! Highly recommended and we hope to go back there ourselves."

"Cottage is of a high standard. Newly decorated with high quality fixtures and fittings. We travelled with a small child and a cot and highchair were provided. Everything you could want or need was provided for a self catering holiday. Malham itself was picturesque and peaceful and provided good local amenities including nice local pubs on the doorstep to the cottage. Would be perfect for a romantic couples break or, like us, a family holiday. Highly recommended."
