Location

Weaver's Cottage is a stone-built, terraced cottage situated in the market town of Skipton, known as The Gateway to the Dales. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one twin, as well as a main bathroom. Also at this property there is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside there is roadside parking and a small rear yard with outdoor furniture. Weaver's Cottage is an ideal holiday home for those that wish to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and many other delightful places that can be found in the area.

The town of Skipton, known as The Gateway to the Dales offers a castle, a colourful market, which occupies the cobbled setts to each side of the high street, and in 2008 the Academy of Urbanism voted the High Street the best shopping spot in Britain. Also there is the whole of the Yorkshire Dales National Park to explore, as well as nearby Grassington and Harrogate.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Reviews of Weaver's Cottage

"Weavers cottage is beautiful, There is everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen. Cosy lounge. Comfortable beds. Lovely bathroom with a nice deep bath to soak in after a day out. Lovely little patio garden to sit out in . 5 mins walk to the high street , the road is very quiet, steps up to cottage are a bit steep as there is no hand rail so anyone with mobility issues might struggle ( the only negative for us ) Stairs inside cottage are steep also, we would definitely stay here again."

Great faciltiies, lovely and cosy when the air is chilly outside, everything you need on the inside for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Really it is a home from home, no issues whatsoever. Its location for the town centre and all that Skipton has to offer is perfect."

"The cottage had a homely feel to it which made it easy to switch off and relax. There was plenty of room for parking on the road outside the property. I liked that the cottage was close to town so we were able to walk in and not use the car and that even though it was near the town it was still in a quiet area. Everything you could need was in the cottage so there was no need to carry lots of extras from home."

"Just as described, very comfortable, clean, and convenient to village. Host allowed us a slightly early check in on first day because we were visiting Yarndale festival that morning. No issues with heat or hot water. Bath was very nice, modern. Beds comfortable. Internet was useful, TV OK, wood burner a nice addition. The town was a joy. It was our first visit to Yorkshire. Took public transportation to all our sites... York, Bolton Abbey, Manchester. Great vacation all around."

"The cottage is quite central and about 7-8 minutes on foot from the High Street and the bus station, using a short cut along the railings above the beck. It is a cosy cottage, in a terrace, having a small paved garden in front and a pleasant secluded little patio at the back, with a table and chairs. As the weather was fine during my week there, it was good to be able to sit outside in the sun. "

"Cottage was as described, spotlessly clean, perfect location in a residential area just a few minutes walk from town. Cottage felt like a home rather than just a 'to let' property, very good quality fixtures and fittings. WiFi easy to connect and great speed. The little enclosed patio at the back was a lovely place to chill with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Public transport throughout the area is exceptional. Sykes Cottages and the caretaker of the property delivered a first class service."

We also enjoyed seeking out new places to visit and the cottage was very well positioned close to the centre of Skipton with most places within the town reachable on foot. Skipton was also well served by buses enabling us to take pleasant trips to local towns."
