Situated in Wharfedale, the village of Burnsall is set on a bend in the River Wharfe and is framed by the dramatic backdrop of Burnsall Fell. The 12th Century church is considered to be the oldest construction in the village whilst the school is thought to be one of the oldest in Britain. The traditional Dales bridge with its five stone arches is another interesting feature of the settlement and is one of the town's most renowned landmarks. Local amenities include a small shop selling sweets and ice-cream as well as various essential goods, a pub with hotel, and a tea-room. Nearby Grassington and Skipton offer a wider range of amenities and Burnsall's river 'beach' is just a few minutes walk away.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

"The Sycamores was a great base for us to explore the Yorkshire Dales. The location was stunning. The cottage was really well equipped. The heating was great and we never felt cold. The open fire was lovely and we were well equipped with the fire wood left by the owners for us. We loved the cottage so much and we will certainly be recommending it to all our family and friends in Australia thinking of visiting the wonderful Yorkshire Dales. "
