Reviews of Riverside

"This cottage is beautifully located when it is not a building site. I booked this cottage about nine months prior to my stay. A few days before my arrival the owner contacted me to explain that there was building work going on and we "might" be disturbed. At such short notice my wife and I decided to risk it until 2 days before we were due to take possession the agent, Sykes Cottages, rang us to say the booking was cancelled due to builders cutting through the power supply cable. At such short notice the only acceptable alternative was a more expensive cottage. When I approached the owner asking that they compensate me for the additional cost they refused. I actually called at the site and it was indeed a building site with mechanical diggers all over the place. This is the second time in 3 years that this owner has done this to us and on both occasions because of building work. A most unsatisfactory experience."

"My Husband and I stayed here with our 6 month old Puppy for a short vacation in February. The accommodation is lovely, clean and very spacious. We absolutely loved the view from the sitting room and enjoyed having our early morning cuppa watching the babbling river and the ducks. Grassington itself has some lovely little shops and a few hostelries and cafe's so you can enjoy a cold glass of something or something more warming. it is literally a 5-10 minute walk into Grassington. The owners are really lovely and nothing is too much trouble should you need anything. We will definitely be back :)"

"The service was good. The owners had their apartment above us, we had our privacy. The apartment had everything we needed and the beds were good. The view was wonderful and it was only a few minutes walk to the centre of Grassington . We had a dog with us and we could make lovely walks nearby. It is a pity that the Yorkshire Dales and this apartment are not situated in Holland. Otherwise we certainly visited it again soon."

The position just outside this popular village was ideal and central for exploring Wharfedale and Wensleydale, and easy to get to the town of Skipton. We would certainly return to this property when next in the Yorkshire Dales."

"This cottage is superb. Close to the lovely village of Grassington (less than 5 mins walking), nice and private at the end of a row of cottages with a parking space. It is very well equipped, modern and cosy with plenty of room for 2 to 4 people. The views from the living room and sun room are of the River Wharfe and the bridge into the village. The riverside footpath can be accessed close to the cottage, which is ideal for those visiting with a four legged friend wanting to walk. We visited over the New Year period and even the unbelievably wet weather didn't spoil our stay as the cottage is so homely and comfortable. This must be one of the best equipped cottages anywhere and the owners are very welcoming but not intrusive even though they live very close by. It is a credit to the owners who have done a magnificent job in creating this special place!"
