Reviews of Victoria Cottage

"A deceptively large Victorian terrace house we picked it because of the location and the fact we could bring our dog. A couple of negative things were the time delay to get hot water through the system and the Fridge Freezer had seen better days and was broken in places. We thought the advantages outweighed these and included off street parking, close to supermarkets and other shops, easy drive to places like Saltburn plus station just down the road for longer trips - we went to Middlesbrough by train."

"Stayed here for 1 week with my boyfriend and dog Lucy. He went kite surfing to Redcar, we spent the week chilling walking to the beach within a slow 10 minute walk or less if you are a fast walker. Everything on your door step. On the High Street so a busy road but never bothered me and I come from a home with no traffic. So clean and fresh smelling from the moment you walk in. Parking tight at the back but we took 2 cars and fitted the one behind the other Short drive to Saltburn & Staithes but much preferred where we were longest stretches of clean beaches here. Lots of shops for convenience, 3 pubs 2 are dog friendly - cheap and cheerful and the staff at The Ship and The Zetland could not do more for us. Before we went asked for more photos on here but never got them so added lots more myself. The cottage has been changed since original listings and upgraded lots. Small yard at the back but just across the road recreation ground to walk the dog. Most definitely will be back here again"

"We found the Victoria Cottage a great place to stay and would highly recommend it. There was a couple issues such as turning on the TV a bit of an issue and also the washing machine but once we got the hang of it all was well. We also found the kitchen fully equipped and spotless. If a person was expecting wifi and internet service they would be disappointed as it is not available."

"We had a lovely stay at Victoria Cottage. It was well equipped and welcoming. We appreciated the decor and the art on the walls and found nothing missing that would have made our stay more comfortable. as we had a large car the narrow entrance to the parking space was a bit of a challenge but it was possible to get up and down without scraping (just). Getting the keys was easy and being able to take our dog was a definite bonus. The house was nice and clean when we arrived and the beds were comfortable. All in all, a perfect home from home (our daughter arrived before us and did put away a lot of the ornaments, cushions, etc which had made it look a bit old fashioned. The house looked better without them)."

"Victoria Cottage was ideal for us ie. 2 adults and an elderly dog. It is well equipped with everythig necessary for a very comfortable holiday. Ther is a small enclosed yard at the rear and a car parking space exclusive to the cottage. It is very conveniently situated for shops and a recreation ground directly opposite the cottage, where we walked the dog each evening. Although Marsque itself does not have many facilities it is close to other seaside places eg, Redcar, Sandsend and Saltburn. It is also reasonably close to the Dales National Centre. we would recommend it to any family without young children."

"The cottage was fantastic, had everything you needed and catered for everyones needs. Don't be tempted to shop at a large supermarket before you get there coz there are great independent shops in the centre (5 min walk) such as a green grocers and butchers. The train station is another 5 minute walk in the opposite direction making it handy to visit Middlesbrough, Saltburn and other lovely places without worrying about parking. It is really close to the beach and you can walk to Saltburn Pier. I love the village, the people are friendly and i would actually like to live there!!"

"Ideal base from which to tour the North York Moors, Cleveland Hills and coast or further north for Teesdale and Hadrians Wall. With 2 dogs we wanted somewhere close to the sea and 5-10 minutes puts you in the centre of a 5 mile stretch of sandy beach. Saltburn in one direction and Redcar in the other are 2 lovely seaside towns and not over commercialised. The cottage is ideally located for a 2 minute walk to supermarkets, take-aways, pubs and plenty of other services whilst with private car parking at the back so hassle free with or without a car. The cottage itself was clean, warm and comfortable, perfect for a week away."
