Location

Sea View Cottage offers friends and families a fantastic base from which to discover this lovely area of North Yorkshire.
The small coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea offers long, wide, sandy beaches and a selection of shops and pubs. Places of interest nearby include Captain Cook's birthplace, the mining museum, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum, and within reach is the North York Moors, and many pretty inland villages and fishing villages including Staithes and Runswick Bay.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

"We were warmly welcomed on our arrival by the owners who leave you to your own devices even though they only live next door. This was our second stay at Sea View Cottage as the first time we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday having been blessed with improving weather as the week went on so much so we were able to sit outside on the terrace watching the sea views and the world going by. We also had some lovely walks along the beach with our dog. This is a lovely, well-equipped apartment in a superb location right on the beach; what more could you wish for?"

"A beautiful apartment which was extremely dog friendly! The owners were very welcoming & showed us round explaining anything we needed to know. A very spacious apartment which was beautifully decorated & with home from home comforts! Everything had been thought of. It was in a prime position overlooking Marske Beach. Also there was a handy shared courtyard at the back of the property which was great to let the dog out last thing at night! Overall a great weekend & will definitely return if we can get in as it seems to be constantly booked due to the exceptional standards - a real gem of a find!"

"What a wonderful find, just had our 2nd visit at this great apartment. The views are brilliant from the lounge and bedroom, The apartment is cosy , comfy and well equipped with all you need. It is situated overlooking the sea with a lovely sunken garden which is really sheltered.It is a dream for dogs having a dog friendly beach where you can walk 3mls to saltburn which is a lovely victorian seaside town, also you can walk 3mls the other way to redcar . If you want to go inland there are loads of lovely walking options, eg. guisborough woods , roseberry topping, captain cooks monument. . Must also mention THE SHIP pub just round the corner , which is dog friendly and serves good food,"

"We stayed at the cottage for the weekend Jan 2015. We were met by the owner who showed us around the property. She explained fully how to use everything and where everything was - such a friendly lady. The whole cottage is truly amazing. It is very cosy, warm and welcoming whilst at the same time keeping it's character. It is ultra modern with the kitchen having all the cooking essentials and more are at hand. The whole place is spotlessly clean. We loved sitting in the window seat watching the waves and the beach. We ate at the local pub The Ship which was very nice. We also walked 45 mins up the beach (this can be done at any time of day) to Saltburn which is a quaint former spa town. Without a doubt we will be returning here after having an amazing chilled out break."

"Location was perfect for us- plenty for the kids to do but we didn't really need anything because we had the beach on our front door. For me the views from the apartment were the best thing but closely followed by the beautiful decor and lovely old features. I would have moved in if I could!"

"This is one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in. The welcome we got from the owners Liz and MIKE was lovely. The apartment was clean, cosy and wonderfully equiped with all that you could possibly need. The weather was great so we were able to have breakfast every morning in the lovely terrace garden overlooking the wonderful dog friendly beach , which our dog adored. You could walk 3 mls one way to Saltburn on the beach or 3mls the other way to Redcar. Everyone was so friendly.An excellent holiday."

"It is the best accommodation we have stayed in in England. Everything inside the apartment was high quality. It was so comfortable and the beds were great. You could sit in the bedroom window watching the sea. It was a minute walk to the beach, which was perfect for our dog. There was a lovely terrace garden overlooking the beach which we used a lot because we had excellent weather. All in all perfect!"
