Reviews of The Station House

"Just spent 3 lovely days in this beautiful house 7 adults and 4 children. Plenty of room for our family gathering for new year. It has everything in it you could possibly need and fresh baked bread, biscuits and chocolates left for us on our arrival. Nice old pub just across the road and a nice 20 minute walk into Whitby. Would certainly recommend it"

"Spotlessly clean when we arrived, with the nice touch of a loaf baking in the bread machine. This property is ideal for a large group, family or otherwise, altough the stairs to the top floor bedrooms are a bit steep for anyone with mobility problems. Plenty of room to chill downstairs with a choice of two well furnished lounges. The dining room is a bit of a squeeze though. The main bedroom is very comfortable with an en suite and a four poster, the other four bedrooms also comfortable but not quite as posh. We walked into Whitby alongside the railway and river Esk. Scenic, fairly flat and took around 30 minutes. Highly recommend the village butcher."

"Right on the station at Ruswarp, with fabulous steam trains chugging past a couple of times a day, an easy walk into Whitby about 20 mins, or jump the local train 6-9 mins. Ruswarp has a brilliant butcher who's goods could feed you with something different for every day of your break, and pies and sausage rolls that will please the most discerning. The house is huge and well fitted out with good quality fixtures and fittings, and everything to make your stay easy, the quality of bed linen (feathers) for those with allergies, was top notch, and towels enough for all and thick and soft, Whitby well what can I say that hasn't been said, a great place with history, intrigue, old alleyways small bars, that sell good reasonably priced food and unique shops for all, the added bonus was the Goth weekend where all manner of beasties and Victorian steampunk, and costumes adorn the streets, my grandchildren loved these, and thank you to those who let us take photos, as my parting words give it a whirl take the whole family, oops go to Beacon farm for the best scones ever, and home made real ice cream, JUST LIVE AND ENJOY"

"We had a large group holiday and booked this property and the Ticket Office, which is a small 2 person property attached to the Station House. There was enough parking at the property for 3 cars, 4 including the space for the Ticket Office. The first impressions of the property were that it was clean and very well cared for. There are so many rooms in this property that 12 people staying here would still not feel cramped. The location is the best thing about the property and we were able to watch the trains go by from the comfort of the sofas. The entire family had a wonderful stay at this property and would really recommend it for any family get-aways and even a large group of friends."

"We like being able to have all our family together. Having 2 sitting rooms was a bonus, and the house is a great for "Hide and Seek". Absolutely adore the Whitby area, whatever the weather! Eden camp well worth a visit. Crazy golf at Whitby and fossil hunting were a hit with the children. Watching the trains - the children especially loved waving at the steam trains as they passed in front of the house. Loved the Aga cooker! Everything we could possibly want was available in the house..."
