"A beautiful house set within lovely grounds, very clean with a lot of character, in a great location! The room I stayed was just stunning and the bath was nothing but perfect. Great Chinese and pub nearby. Owner was lovely and very helpful with any questions. "

"Absolutely gorgeous house. We stayed here for an 80th and it housed us all comfortably. We travelled with our 2 children ( 5 months + 3 year old) and the room we had accommodated us all really well, a travel cot was provided, and the sofa in the room turned into a sofa bed, we had a lovely 4 poster bed and a stunning en suite. All amenities were thought of. The lounge is beautiful and very comfy... especially with the fire lit... will look forward to booking again :) "

"Just returned from a fantastic week with friends and family staying at Station Farm. Twelve adults and two dogs. Opulence is the only way to describe the master bedroom and the stunning roll top bath situated in the ensuite. Wonderful dining room and fabulous gardens add to this superb property. Although this property has six bedrooms a couple of the bedrooms are a little on the small side however this does not spoil the ambience and total enjoyment of the experience of staying here."

"We were looking for the perfect place for our two families to go on holiday together, cosy but big enough for fifteen (including 5 teenagers) safe for inquisitive toddlers and dog friendly. We found all this at Station Farm... It felt cosy and welcoming straight away, even though we filled it to capacity it never felt cramped... there was enough crockery for us all to eat together and if we squeezed we could fit round the huge table (there was a second table in the dining room which was a bonus. The wifi was a great bonus though perhaps it would have been good to switch it off. The bedrooms were lovely and made up well, the place was clean and the kitchen well equipped. A brilliant place to stay and discover North Yorkshire"

"Old Station Farm is a grand period property but still feels very homely and has everything you could need. Although our group was 12 adults and a baby there is plenty of space so that you aren't on top of one another. The local area is lovely with Malton and Castle Howard only a few miles away and a good local pub that serves Cantonese food."

"My husband surprised me for my 30th with all of my family. When we pulled up I was really impressed by the building... until we walked in that is. The musty smell hit me straight away and although the kitchen was modern, there were signs informing us not to touch or lean on things because they are broken (not great when you have children). Walking into the dining area the musty/damp smell becomes more obvious and the lounge was extremely uncomfortable with a broken coffee table. We soon realised after our first night that if you wanted a hot shower you would need to be the first up, otherwise you would have to wait over an hour before you could get hot water again. Door handle fell off in the main bedroom so got stuck in the room twice before we had to just prop the door open. Once we all got home all 8 of us were sick. It was because we slept in damp conditions. "

"We stayed here for a friends Hen Do. It's not too far from York where we went for an evening meal. The cottage is very big and grand. Furnished with lovely antique and antique style furniture. We all felt very at home there. The large living room fire that we used on the first night made it very cosy and there was plenty of room for us all to sit around it and gossip and play games. There area is very nice and the people are very friendly. The pub/chinese restaurant a few doors down were very nice and accommodating and it's not far from Malton where we visited in the day which has some nice antique shops a farmers market etc. There's lots of tourist places near by like Castle Howard. It's a good place for large group of friends or a couple of families."
