The village is split into two halves of the old and new, new Langho developed when the construction of the railway took place in the mid-19th century, turning it into a minor but still thriving commercial centre. The ancient part of the village is considered a real gem, steeped in history for visitors to explore. There are pubs and eateries among a few small shops and a school in the village. The wider area however, boasts many points of interest to be discovered such as, Longridge Fell which lies at the southern end of the Forest of Bowland AONB. Reviews of Deer Lodge

"Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. All the little touches that the owners have done just makes it so lovely and snug and perfect . We made full use of the hot tub whilst we was staying . The welcome hamper and bottle of fizz was just the extra mile the owners go too. Thankyou both Amanda & Craig for our stay. I would love to return one day and see the stables complete. Great places to eat Black Bull - Tuesday night curry Waddington Arms - beat the clock before 19.00 great value for money . Shireburn arms - lovely Sunday roast and Lancashire hot pot. "
