Reviews of Ganarew Cottage

"My wife booked this for my "extended" 60th birthday. We stayed for 10 days entertaining close family (including 2 young grandchildren, 5 and 8) for the first weekend. We then had two sets of friends to stay at other times plus spent a couple of days on our own playing golf close by at Monmouth GC (very hilly) and Forest Hills GC (many trees!). The cottage is really big inside with 4 large bedrooms, a family bathroom, one ensuite bathroom and a cloakroom downstairs. The living area is spacious and very homely including a wood burning stove. The kitchen is large (we had a private caterer in for one evening and he was complimentary about the facilities given that it is a rental premises). A large garage houses plenty of entertainment for young (and not so young) children. Our grandsons enjoyed the games. The one small downside is that the property is next to a care home. The staff take their breaks outside (coffee and cigarettes) and were quite noisy very early in the morning some days."

"We stayed at Ganarew Cottage at the end of February for my friend's hen weekend. We wanted a comfortable, welcoming place where we could relax between activities! Ganarew cottage was ideal. Whilst it looks quite small from the outside, it is very spacious inside and the light, clean decor gives it a lovely luxurious feel. There were 8 of us all together and there was plenty of room for everyone to get involved in the kitchen and we enjoyed some lovely meals around the dining table. The wood burning stove was an added bonus! The property is very well maintained and the owner was exceptionally helpful. We recommend 'The Moody Cow' for dinner, 'Monnow Events' for outdoors activities and Eastnor Pottery for a more creative experience!"

"We spent a comfortable few days in a run up to Christmas in Ganarew Cottage. The cottage was surprising large and was well equipped & although the weather was poor with rain every day, the cottage was warm and cosy. Unfortunately the weather was not cold enough to use the wood burner in the living room, but that would have added to the cosy atmosphere. The kitchen was well equipped and all the appliances were nearly new and working well. Everything was clean and in good order. On arrival finding the locally made cake and jam was a nice touch. The Wi-Fi is always a necessity these days but finding Netflix on the TV was a bonus. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding clean and crisp. Thanks"
