Reviews of Brock Cottage

"Excellent location in New Forest. Beautiful views over heathland, from Lounge window , where horses, donkeys and cows wandered freely. Privately located within owners bungalow grounds. Oddly enough the only visible outlook of the owner was from the bathroom window, which surprisingly had clear, not frosted, glass which looked directly into conservatory. I felt I had to permanently keep curtains closed for modesty ! Accomm is an over garage conversion. Very comfy, cosy and tidy. Downstairs utility and kitchen/diner. Upstairs Lounge, bathroom and bedroom which featured a super king bed. Quite steep stairs. TV in Lounge and Kitchen. Nicely furnished. Heating available, which sadly we needed as weather somewhat unkind. Proprietor Sue De Salis very welcoming and helpful with info on area. Fob for electric gates provided. Boris the dog visited daily and was such a bundle of fun. No phone signal at all at property and wifi unstable at times. Lovely walk round adjacent Hatchett Pond. Plenty of parking areas within forest for walks. We visited Salisbury and Winchester, using park and ride facilities, which worked well (Salisbury free at present). Would return and recommend."

"This is my second visit to Brock Cottage. The area has a peacefulness about it, there are a variety of different areas to explore; forest, heath and coastal, all with their own unique qualities and different habitats for nature. Indeed there are unique birds to be found at all locations. There was no need to take the car out on excursions as most areas are in walking or at least cycling distance. The owner of the cottage and her delightful dog are most welcoming, and very helpful with advice on the area. This is indeed a special place."

"The cottage was warm and cosy when I arrived. Everything was just right. The chairs and the bed are comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. We were able to walk from the house without driving the car anywhere first. I loved watching the sun set from the sitting room window, over the heath. Lots of walking and cycle trails which were really accessible and there are small towns nearby to explore. I was very sad to leave on Monday."

"We loved the location of this cottage which is, in fact, detached in the owner's beautiful garden. We had our own private area of garden and somewhere to sit out and listen to the birds and smell the lovely fresh forest air. Walks straight from the door into the new forest heath was fantastic for us and we delighted in watching the ponies and west highland cattle walk past the Cottage on their way to other grazing areas. Location to amenities was good as the towns such as Lyndhurst and Hythe were very close for shopping. Location to the sea with lovely walks and views was superb as was the tranquillity of the cottage. The owner is a really lovely person who was very kind and helpful. We SHALL return."

"My wife and I had a very enjoyable week at Brock Cottage, which is located on the south-western outskirts of Beaulieu within the New Forest National park. After much Trip Advisor research and planning we decided that Brock Cottage would probably be what we were after, and it WAS. We wanted a base that would enable us to enjoy our week regardless of possible variable autumn weather. We also wanted a peaceful comfortable home away from home, located to enable us to travel in various directions, exploring countryside, National Trust properties, historic cities and cathedrals as well as experiencing the New Forest National Park, Portsmouth etc. Communications, booking etc all worked very smoothly and we found the two storey cottage to be very roomy. Downstairs there is a large fully equipped kitchen/dining and a separate entry lobby. Upstairs is a large bedroom, a spate bathroom and cosy spate lounge/TV room. All with central heating and pleasant views of owners adjoining house and garden, as well as the countryside beyond (New Forest horses and donkeys). Brock Cottage is an older property, but it is well looked after in good condition and very comfortable. We had a great week and were thoroughly satisfied with our choice"
