Reviews of The Granary

"We have just spent a most enjoyable week at The Granary. It is a charming, very well-appointed cottage with everything provided that could possibly be needed for a comfortable stay. It was spotlessly clean and the owners were most welcoming. They could not do enough to make us feel at home. We also had breakfast twice in the main house, which was very tasty and enjoyable. Our dogs were made to feel very much at home and were even greeted with biscuits! The bed was extremely comfortable and the cottage very warm. The surrounding area is very beautiful, especially with the autumn colours. There were some good pubs within the vicinity and the highlight of our week was possibly the visit to the International Centre for Birds of Prey at Newent. We very much look forward to returning to this relaxing and cosy little cottage."

"The location was great for both the forest and the river. There was a lovely babbling brook running along the back of the property and a super garden to sit out in the sunshine. There was a good local store with lots of good provisions close by and the local Fish and Chip shop served good food too. The owners were delightful super people. Would definitely return to The Granary."

"The Granary proves to be the ideal location for a holiday in the Forest of Dean/Wye Valley. The owners Christine and andy were most welcoming to my husband and I and our two dogs - supplying tea and coffee for us and dog treats for 'the boys'. The cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Unlike some holiday lets we have stayed in this really is dog-friendly e.g. laminate and tiled floors throughout. There is a small garden next to the cottage which is shared by all guests and you can also order breakfast and an evening meal (at extra cost) to have in the owners B&B; in the adjacent main house. With off road parking directly infront of the accommodation and the whole cottage on one level it is also ideal for anyone with mobility problems. We would definitely return to the property when visiting the area again."

"Christine and andy were very welcoming, our dog was very spoilt by the biscuit left by Christine ...lovely. Cottage was very cosy, we had full control of the heating so although it says storage heaters, they were ones you could control to required temp. Cottage was very clean. Hot water on hand. Walks from cottage but also lots of walks within 10mins drive. Cycle centre just up the road where you could hire bikes and go from centre on trails. Beechenhurst lodge is also a nice place for walking or cycling with sculptures to see on your way round. Symonds Yat was a favourite place of ours, good for bird watching although a good head for heights needed but a breath taking view at same time. Watch out for speed cameras on a40 Monmouth as I got a speeding ticket on my return to home :-(. But a great chilling holiday."
