Reviews of Little Thatch

"On the downside WiFi would have been good but not essential. Road outside got very noisy at times. TV a nightmare to get going Car covered in bird poop from the tree up drive Kitchen utensils sparse and frying pans and saucepans need replacing We went out and bought a fry pan to be able to cook breakfast On the good side - with the heating on the cottage is cosy Bed clean and comfortable - plenty of hot water - excellent shower Close to beach and shops - lots of lovely walks - nice garden although not warm enough for us to use"

"Situated a stones throw from the beach, this little gem has so much character it's simply the best holiday rental cottage we've ever hired. We stayed during the "mini beast from the East" in March 2018, so outside was pretty cold, but this is such a warm cottage, we really looked forward to returning each evening to warm up. Very dog friendly complete with a fully enclosed back garden. Very clean and well equipped, this cottage ticked every box. We got home 3 hours ago, and I've just rebooked for next month."

"The cottage was very close to the sea which was ideal for my dog who enjoyed the lovely sandy beach. Also close by was a little shop which sold our daily paper. Then there was a great fish and chip shop within walking distance to take back piping hot fish and chips for supper."

"Little Thatch was ideally placed for access to the beach, literally a minutes walk and had every home comfort that we required for a weekend away. The garden was a bonus for our dog and was nice and secure also. Off road parking was very handy and access into the cottage via the side gate through the garden and into the kitchen was easy enough. Overall we were very pleased and would definitely return or recommend to others."

"Lovely little cottage, very clean and well appointed with the added bonus of catering for pets, they even had spare dog leads , lovely secure garden and a stones throw from the beach, good parking for two cars. negative point is the cottage is close to the road but there is little traffic after dark so a good nights sleep is assured. ideal cottage for a short break away from the maddening crowd Will definitely book this cottage again"

"For people who appreciate a character cottage and realise that steep stairs, low beams, less space are an inherent part of it, I feel this cottage would take a lot of beating. Convenient situation for town and beach. Very safe and attractive garden for pets, good garden furniture. Good hot, spacious shower, comfortable furniture, good supply of books & DVDs. Only 2 mugs a bit unusual, but maybe last occupants broke some? Do agree with a previous reviewer that it would be nice to be able to open sealed bedroom windows, and, although attractive, shells in otherwise useful receptacles in a very small cottage is not ideal. Maximum space for visitor's fruit, bottles etc would probably be better."

"The proximity of this pretty cottage to the beach was a bonus and we enjoyed lovely walks along the promenade. However, this cottage needed a good clean. Fair enough we stayed at the end of the season but we were extremely disappointed with the poor level of cleanliness. The cottage is also very cluttered. Were the nine empty Bombay Sapphire gin bottles on the kitchen windowsill really necessary? They just took up space, which is at a premium here. The same could be said for the numerous containers of shells scattered everywhere! yes they are very pretty but holiday guests need to have somewhere to put their own stuff!! The bedroom is again very pretty but the two windows do not open and it is extremely stuffy - we had a particularly warm week and we could have done with a through breeze in this bedroom. Needless to stay there was a distinct smell of "bodies" and we decided that we dare not look at the mattress or we probably would have packed up and gone elsewhere!! Attention to detail seriously lacking, cobwebs and dust pretty much everywhere here. Sorry!"

"Great place to stay, compact, well equipped and great garden. We spent a week at this cottage in June and were lucky enough to have great weather, the fully enclosed garden with good garden furniture was perfect for us and our Rough Collie. Also being so close to the beach with easy access for our four legged friend. The steep stairs were not a problem for us but might be for elderly or anyone with restricted mobility. There is some traffic noise as the bedroom overlooks a road, so not ideal if you want peace and quite evenings or early morning. Would recommend to anyone."
