The millstone village of Tintwistle, 2 miles from Glossop, often labelled the "Gateway to the Peaks", is skirted on three sides by the Peak District National Park and is renowned for the moorlands of the Dark Peak. Accessed via the infamous Snake Pass, this most attractive area, houses some fine 17th and 18th Century cottages. Bottoms Reservoir is in the centre of the village, providing the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll.

"Nice cottage with some great walks nearby. The cottage has everything needed for a family stay. We would recommend the 'Bulls Head' pub nearby in Tintwistle as well as the Vegan Cafe, both serve excellent food."
