Relatively unknown to many Lakeland visitors, this area offers easy access to the towering peaks of Scafell Pike - England's highest peak, as well as Scarfell, Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell. Other local attractions include Muncaster Castle with its World Hawk and Owl Centre; the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, the famous Hardknot Pass with its Roman Fort, and the Georgian town of Whitehaven with its picturesque harbour.

Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
